THE CITY OF BEE CAVE AND THE HILL COUNTRY GALLERIA DEBUT ICE RINK FOR THE HOLIDAYS
–Open November 4, 2022 - January 2, 2023; Skate Rentals Available On-Site–
BEE CAVE, TEXAS (October 4, 2022) – Mark your calendars for November 5, when the Hill Country Galleria and the City of Bee Cave will host a grand opening for the region’s premier winter-season attraction: an outdoor ice skating rink in the heart of the Hill Country Galleria. The celebration is expected to include music, figure skaters, a Grammy Award–winning singer and some fun giveaways for the kids. The 40-by-84-foot ice rink, located between the Bee Cave Public Library and the Hill Country Galleria lawn, will operate until January 2, 2023. Reservations will open November 1 and will be posted on both the City of Bee Cave and the Hill Country Galleria websites.
“Visiting Hill Country Galleria during the holidays is always a special time, and this year we are excited to partner with the City of Bee Cave to provide families and friends with a fun, new holiday experience,'' said Alora Hess, Marketing Manager at Hill Country Galleria. “The on-site ice rink will be a great addition to the space, and we believe it will attract people from all over the Austin area to shop, dine, skate, and enjoy the property this holiday season.”
The ice rink will be open seven days a week and will be able to hold 120 people at a time. The $15 ticket includes skate rental and a 75-minute skate session. Reservations in advance are encouraged, but a number of walk-ups will be available. Construction for the ice rink will begin on October 26 and it will be open to the public November 4, 2022, with the opening festivities on November 5 at 5 p.m.
“We want to create a magical experience for residents and visitors and to truly make Bee Cave the holiday destination for 2022,” said Bee Cave City Manager Clint Garza. “This has been a huge undertaking but we know it will make this season so memorable for everyone who comes to experience the rink, the shopping, the dining and the overall festive atmosphere at the Hill Country Galleria.”
Companies interested in sponsorships are being offered the opportunity to host a variety of community nights, where they can reserve tickets ahead of time to offer free skating sessions for teachers, first responders, veterans and other groups in the community.
